Faustino, “Icon”Gran Reserva DOCa, Rioja 2017

Faustino Icon Gran Reserva 2017 (DOCa Rioja) is a premium red wine from the vineyards of Bodegas Faustino, distinguished by exceptional craftsmanship and ageing potential. It is made mainly from Tempranillo with supporting varieties such as Graciano, from the best plots in Rioja Alavesa.

The wine ages for over 24 months in oak barrels, followed by an extended period in bottle before release. In the glass it impresses with a deep violet-red color and a complex aromatic profile – forest and black fruit, dark cherry, cinnamon, cedar, a light fir and earthy sensation. The palate is full-bodied and elegant, with structured yet polished tannins, well-integrated oak and fresh acidity that gives balance and a long finish.

This is a wine that is excellent to begin cellaring for 10+ years, but can also be enjoyed now with proper decanting.
