Comte Lafond, Sancerre Rouge 2023

Sancerre Rouge 2023 is a refined red wine from the prestigious producer Comte Lafond, offering a subtle expression of the Sancerre terroir, traditionally associated mainly with white wines. The 2023 vintage offers excellent climatic conditions, allowing for a ripe yet elegant expression of the variety.
In the glass the wine has a light ruby color. The aroma is delicate and compact, with dominant notes of red forest fruit – cherry, raspberry and wild strawberries – combined with fine accents of violets, spice and a light oak touch (where the wine has been partially aged in barrels).
On the palate it is elegant, with a velvety structure and well-integrated tannins. The fresh acidity highlights the fruity character and gives liveliness and length to the finish. This is a wine with short-term ageing potential, but also excellent for drinking at a young age.
Food pairings: perfect with roasted chicken, duck breast, trout, mushroom risotto, and cheeses such as Brie or Camembert.
